Abstract: It is a pleasure to address this distinguished group on the subject of Small Craft Navigation and particulary to represent the United States PowerSquadrons. We have 60,000 members in 338 Squadrons throughout the United States. The USPS is an educational, non-profit ogranization conducting clases in Piloting, Seaman-Ship, Coastwise and Celestial Navigation and Associated subjects. In 1962 we graduated 346 highly qualified marine navigators who had completed our courses in Celestial Navigation and with additional practical experience are competent to take a ship around the world. Those completing our course in Advanced Piloting, which gave them all they needed for coastwise navigation, numbered over 4,000.
