Abstract: | The application of optimal filtering techniques to the problem of satellite orbit determiantion is introduced. These techniques are based upon the work of Dr. R.E. Kalamn in the field of optimum estimation in linear sampled systems. The equations necessary to implement an on-board orbit determination system are presented and discussed. Simulation results are also presented to illustrate the validity of the approach and the value of the results for error analysis. |
