SIMPLIFIED CORIOLIS MATHEMATICS

Abstract:	HOW WOULD your intellect react to the command: “Derive a mathematical expression for Coriolis Force.” The most rigorous treatments involve vector calculus; an easily understandable approach to the problem is difficult to find in the literature. The following may be of interest to navigators who have been frustrated in research efforts, as was the author, who searched spasmodically for a simplified derivation during an 18 month period by wading into various advanced textbooks. Finally, an easily understandable treatment was located.
