Abstract: THE INTRODUCTION of low-drift gyros and heading readouts to 0.1 necessitates a faster and more accurate method of heading determination than triple interpolation of H.O. 249 for the D.R. position. This proposal is to use the fix or most probably position information and a relative bearing heading check concurrent with the altitude sight to derive the true heading.
