TIME AND NAVIGATION

Dr. R. L. Duncombe and R. F. Haupt

Peer Reviewed

Abstract: A BRIEF SKETCH is given of the historical background of time as it has been applied to navigation. The very great progress in time determination and the stringent requirements for precise frequency have made it possible and necessary to use an atomic time system for time signals in the near future. The effect on the precision of navigation is discussed.
