Abstract:	Sherman Mills Fairchild (1896-1971) Mr. Fairchild died of cancer in New York City, March 19, 1971. He will be remembered by his friends in the Institute of Navigation and through the financial and scientific world as an individual with a thirst for technical knowledge that would contribute to the development and improvement of aerospace systems, photography, graphic arts, and sound recording technology.
