Peer Reviewed

Abstract: The operational experience and recent evaluation data pertaining to the performance of TALAR, a step scanned microwave landing system is reviewed. The data reviewed covers a period of approximately 10 years. The basic functional operation of a step scan system is described, i.e., TALAR. A family of landing systems is then derived via modular inter-change with the base line unit. Operational configurations such as short take off and landing, asynchronous split site, multi angle and multi channel are described.
