Development of a Secure, GPS-Based Flight Recorder for Sport Aviation

Abstract: In January, 1995, the World Gliding Championships were scored for the first time using GPS-Based Flight Recorders developed by Cambridge Aero Instruments. This paper describes the need for and development of this GPS recording and navigation instrument.
