ANALYSIS OF VOR/DME SIGNAL COVERAGE OVER THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES

Abstract:	This paper describes an analysis based on computer programs written by the authors which estimate the availability of VOR/DME and dual DME coverage at en route altitudes and the availability of dual DME for approach guidance at major airports within the Continental United States. En route results are given for various aircraft altitudes above sea level and above average terrain and are presented in the form of computer-generated maps. Terminal results are summarized in a table.
