Abstract: | The NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS) successfully completed its Concept Validation phase of development with a Defense System Acquisition Review Council (DSARC) in June 1979. The program is now in Full Scale Engineering Development, and user equipments are being developed for integration, test and evaluation in nine host vehicles of the four Services. In parallel, a number of significant follow-on tests are being implemented using first generation equipments. This paper reviews the more significant GPS activities which have taken place following the successful DSARC. |
