Abstract: | Captain Mac Elrevey has effectively laid out the essence of the art of shiphandling. As is generally the case in such books, the more experience the reader has, the more the book will be appreciated. Shiphandling will not be learned from reading the book, and the author does not claim otherwise. He directs his efforts to “... at least help mariners to better understand the handling of ships.” He gives a good background upon which to build the skills that can only be developed through practice and experience. |
