APPLICATION OF TIME TRANSFER FOR OMEGA TRANSMITTERS USING NAVSTAR GPS

Abstract: As of April 1987 GPS monitor receivers have been installed at all the OMEGA transmitting stations. As an external input to the current synchronization program, this will greatly improve OMEGA system synchronization. Another use of these GPS receivers is to measure Precise Propagation Corrections (PPCs) which are used to improve the internal synchronization (reciprocal path) of the system. GPS monitor receivers also facilitate time transfer procedures and eliminate the need for costly portable cesium clock visits.
