Abstract: | In March 1978, the United States General Accounting Office (GAO) published a report titled “Navigation Planning-Need for a New Direction.” One of the results of this report was an interagency agreement between DOD and DOT to strengthen Federal Radionavigation Planning. The outcome was the publication of the first edition of the Federal Radionavigation Plan (FRP) in 1980. Two key events were the 1983 DOD/DOT Preliminary Recommendation on the Future Radionavigation System Mix and the 1987 Decision at the National Level. This paper contains a discussion of the impact of the FRP on OMEGA. |
