Abstract: GNSS signal simulator is a convenient and effective auxiliary instrument in the design and verification of GNSS receivers. To generate more authentic signals in different scenarios, we need to have a clear understanding of corresponding channel characteristics. In this paper, the fading model and characteristic of GNSS indoor channel are studied based on real GPS raw data. Long-time coherent integration is used to capture weak indoor signal; meanwhile, a new SNR estimation method is used. Obvious regular fading variation of indoor signals is noticed in the time domain. Based on experiment results, two general fading patterns are roughly proposed. Then, physical model and fading frequency estimation method corresponding to each pattern are also given.
