Abstract: | This paper presents a history of The Institute of Navigation from the beginning of 1970 through early 1995. It focuses on the dramatic technological advances that were being embraced by the navigation community at the start of this period, their influences upon the Institute, and the changes adopted by the Institute to accommodate them. Some comments and concerns about the future are also presented. |
