Abstract: | The authors of the referenced paper 111 find that the comments in 121 accurately describe the decisions made in RTCA SC-159 Working Group 5. The group agreed that while exhaustive on-line testing would be an adequate means of demon- strating that the system performs its intended function, this approach was not practical or cost- effective. The working group adopted an approach to achieve this goal without compromising aviation safety. |
