A Methodology for Estimation of Ground Phenomena Propagation

This research presents a methodology for estimating the periphery of propagating phenomena. A procedure to construct a model of the periphery and the rate of spread is discussed. The methodology utilizes Quantized Estimation to improve the predicted periphery spread-rate and its current pose. Next, it directs multiple UAVs to the areas of highest uncertainty to suppress the uncertainty of the periphery. The algorithm is incorporated in a Multi-UAV dynamic simulation to prove the concept of Uncertainty Suppression with various of designed fleet deployment schemes. The research presents a comprehensive numerical analysis of the proposed algorithm and simulation results are also included.
