Manassas, Virginia, March 5, 2024 -
The Institute of Navigation (ION) announces that registration for the Joint Navigation Conference (JNC) is now open. The conference, sponsored by the Military Division of ION for the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security, will be held June 3-6, 2024, in the Greater Cincinnati Area. CUI US-Only sessions will be hosted June 3-5 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky; and a US-Only SECRET session will be hosted June 6 at AFIT, WPAFB, Dayton, Ohio. Visit requests and approvals are required for all session attendees.
JNC is the largest U.S. military Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) conference of the year with joint service and government participation. This year's event boasts the most extensive technical program in the history of JNC, highlighting significant advancements in PNT; space-based PNT; complementary PNT; joint development, testing, and integration of PNT systems; and all forms of modeling and simulation. From a military and operational perspective, the conference will focus on advances in battlefield applications of GPS; situational awareness; degraded operations; critical strengths and weaknesses of field navigation devices; affordable PNT systems, logistics and integration; warfighter PNT requirements and solutions; and navigation warfare.
The theme of this year’s conference will be “Robust, Resilient, Assured PNT for Warfighters and Homeland Defense,” and will feature a keynote address from Kevin Mulvihill, Deputy Chief Information Officer for Command, Control, & Communications at the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Chief Information Officer. For detailed information on CUI US-Only session topics, please visit: https://www.ion.org/jnc/program.cfm. The conference will also feature five panel discussions on relevant and timely topics with governmental, industry, and policy leaders; and the popular Warfighter Panel.
For this year’s JNC, the highly anticipated SECRET session is set to make its return on Thursday, June 6, 2024. The JNC’s 2024 SECRET program was curated by invitation from the JNC Military Division’s leadership (with security support from AFRL). After consultation with PNT leadership across the services, presentations concerning PNT threats, major PNT studies, current operational conditions and challenges, requirements development, and results from rapidly fielding material solutions will be presented. Attendance is restricted. For attendance requirements, please visit: https://www.ion.org/jnc/clearance.cfm.
