Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation’s (NGSC) Family of Inertial Navigation “Kits” provides a low Size, Weight and Power solution for today’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicles / Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (herein after referred to as AUVs). The NGSC Product Family features scalable accuracies with easy to install IMU(s) with separate navigation processor and I/O CCAs in a “kit”. Our Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) IMUs and CCAs are currently in high volume production. The kit approach offers tremendous mounting flexibility, zero acoustic signature, and lowers UUV/AUV navigator size, power, weight and cost. Furthermore, our product family offers a domestic solution for UUV/AUV navigation needs that will meet ~90% of AUV missions.

Our AUV Navigator Solution offers a scalable for small attack drones to very large UUV/AUVs using in production NGCS IMUs (LR254, LN251, LN200HP, LR-500) with our SeaFind USV/AUV Nav Processor and I/O CCA (proven s/w and h/w). Shown in the figure below are the 4 classes of IMUs, associated CCA, and anticipated performance information.

This paper will present early lab and field testing of the mid class performance range (LN200HP Kit).
