Session C4: Military PNT User Equipment: Other

Organizing to Optimize PNT Unified Mission Readiness
Matt Spencer, SSC/PNT SYD
Location: Room 1-3
Date/Time: Monday, Jun. 3, 4:05 p.m.

Various factors contribute to successfully designing, developing, and delivering Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technology. These factors include the continuous improvement of organizational structures across the acquisition and operations continuum to optimize the delivery of practical solutions to Combatant Commanders for national security. Regular review of policy, governance, processes, procedures, and manpower requirements is essential to ensure their effectiveness and prevent interferences of PNT capabilities to the warfighter. To help with this and to achieve Unified Mission Readiness, the United States Space Force (USSF) established two new types of Deltas: Integrated Mission Deltas (IMDs) and System Deltas (SYDs) to strengthen unity of command for readiness and energize unity of effort for capability development by organizing USSF activities around mission areas rather than functional specialties. The PNT IMD and SYD serve as models for this organizational change and will focus on integrating efforts to create unified mission readiness for joint forces while informing U.S. Space Force leadership through lessons learned on the effects of winning the Great Power Competition.
