This paper describes a configurable GNSS signal generator with a direct digital synthesis (DDS) architecture to investigate the limitations of Phase Optimized Constant Envelope Transmission (POCET) within a digital system. We explore the impact of quantization on the POCET constellation and the resulting signal. Software and hardware simulations are used to verify theoretical results. Finally, we suggest a method for finding optimal phase tables, bounded by the limitations of a digital system, and demonstrate a valid approach to dynamic power allocation.
