We present progress toward a transportable and reduced SWAP commercial strontium-ion optical clock. The physics package and control electronics are condensed to fit within a half-height 19" rack. The development effort targets simplification and automation, while still approaching the frequency instability of tabletop-scale systems (mid 10^-15/sqrt(tau)). Notably, the system requires only two frequency-stabilized lasers. Custom electronics have contributed to the reduction in system SWAP. A differentiating design choice in the physics package is the use of a linear trap. This enables both loading without photoionization and the option of simultaneous probing of more than one ion, to reduce the frequency instability quantum projection noise limit. The system offers a realistic commercial solution for ground or ship-based applications and makes a step forward in simplification toward a potential space-qualifiable trapped-ion optical clock.
