Flight Inspection System Standardization Work in China

As the essential equipment to perform routine testing of radio navigation aids, the stability, reliability, and the conformance of flight inspection system (FIS) are significant to in-flight safety. Normal avionics have numerous national and international, official and industrial specifications to comply. As to flight inspection system, ICAO Doc 8071 and FAA Order 8200 defines some requirements briefly but still, lacks systematic and specific requirements.
Since 2016, Beihang University and Air Traffic Control Industry Administration Office of CAAC have been developing a standard to regulate the flight inspection system product applied in civil aviation. The standard draft: “Flight Inspection System-Technical Requirement”, specifies system functions, performance requirements, technical requirements for critical components, including antenna control, signal collection, evaluation, calibration, reference and etc. The anti-interference ability, MMI, and requirements for the modification are presented additionally, with general requirements, such as mark, documents, shipping, storage, and guarantee.
