Ionosphere scintillation causes some of the most severe disturbances in GNSS measurements. This phenomenon occurs when radio signals that propagate through ionosphere plasma irregularities exhibit strong phase and amplitude fluctuations. In this work, we consider the algorithm published in  and demonstrate its modest effectiveness at mitigating cycle slips due to ionosphere scintillation using simulated and real datasets. For the simulated dataset, we utilize the multi-frequency phase screen model from . For the real datasets, we consider a scintillation event that was measured by a low-latitude ground receiver near Hong Kong and scintillation measured by the low-Earth-orbiting COSMIC spacecraft. We discuss the merits and shortcomings of this filtering algorithm and suggest alternative approaches and routes for improvement.
