Hatch-Ronald

Mr. Ronald Hatch has served as the Institute of Navigation’s president from June 2001 to June 2002. Prior to his term as president, he served on the ION’s Executive Committee, ION Council and the Satellite Division Executive Committee for many years. Mr. Hatch also served as the program chair of the National Technical Meeting in 1997 and as the general chair of the 1998 National Technical Meeting. He received the Johannes Kepler Award in 1994 and the Thomas L. Thurlow Award in 2001 for his outstanding and sustained contributions to the science of satellite navigation. Mr. Hatch was one of the first ten ION fellows named in 2000.

During his year as president, Mr. Hatch has led the realignment of the ION’s regional boundaries to ensure vital leadership for the Institute’s future. He implemented the initiation of ION-sponsored scholarship programs, participated heavily in updating the ION’s Strategic Plan and oversaw the relocation of the physical facilities for the ION National Office.
