Citation: In grateful recognition of her leadership and achievements on behalf of the Institute of Navigation.
Ms. Karen Van Dyke has served as the Institute of Navigation’s president from June 2000 to June 2001. Prior to her term as president, she served on the ION’s Executive Committee and Council for numerous years. She also served as the program chair of the ION’s 53rd Annual Meeting held in 1997 and as the general chair of the 54th Annual Meeting held in 1998. Ms. Van Dyke is one of the founding members and organizers of the Institute’s New England Section. During her year as ION president, she has increased the Institute’s international visibility, incorporated diversity into the Institute’s technical meeting programs, and led the continued development in the Institute’s membership services.
