Student Travel Grants (January, April/June)
The ION offers a travel grant program that is designed to provide student authors the opportunity to prepare and present papers at ION's Annual and National Technical Meetings. The grant money is awarded on a “need basis.” This is a matching grant that provides 50% of the travel expenses with a maximum ION reimbursement of $500 per student.

Student authors are encouraged to submit abstracts for the ION Annual and National Technical meetings. A copy of the abstract must accompany the application for the travel grant. The abstract and application are to be sent to the ION National Office. The ION will forward the abstract to the meeting program chair for consideration.

Additional information and a printable application form are available online.

ION GNSS 2008 Sponsored Student Program (September)
This sponsorship gives student authors an opportunity to attend and present their papers at ION GNSS -- the world's leading international GNSS conference.

Full-time undergraduate or graduate students in engineering, science, mathematics or other related fields are eligible. Groups of student authors are acceptable (no faculty co-authors), but only one student per paper will be sponsored to attend the conference as a winner. Selected students will present their technical paper in the professional session appropriate to the paper’s topic.

The sponsorship includes:

  • Travel sponsorship (includes a flat rate stipend based on the location of your school)
  • A complimentary conference registration that includes all conference meals and a copy of the CD-ROM proceedings.
  • Publication of the student's technical paper in the ION GNSS conference proceedings.
  • A special student-rate fee for optional pre-conference tutorials.
For more information, visit the ION GNSS 2008 Sponsored Student announcement page. Submit your paper and Application Form prior to March 5, 2008.

Student-rate Registration Discounts
ION also offers a discounted student rate registration fee for any full-time student to attend an ION conference. This fee allows full-time undergraduate or graduate students to participate in all ION technical sessions and conference exhibits.

To be eligible, register online for the conference of your choice, then fax a copy of your student ID to +1-703-383-9689.
