PREFACE
The National Aerospace Meeting was held at Stouffer’s Denver Inn, Colorado on 13 and 14 April, 1977.
On 13 April Brig. Gen. R. A. Duffy, USAF (Ret.), President of The ION opened the meeting with appropriate remarks.
The First Session was on Space Navigation and was chaired by James S. Martin, Jr., Vice President of Advanced Programs and Planning, Martin Marietta Aerospace. Mr. Martin gave a most interesting presentation on the Mars landing with a number of slides.
The Chairman of the Second Session was Dr. Navin Jerath, Jet Propulsion Laboratory. His session was followed by a tour of the United Air Lines Training Facility.
At the banquet on 13 April the speaker was I4ervyn M. Martin, Director, FAA, Rocky Mountain Region, who gave a most interesting talk.
On 14 April the Chairman of Session III was George Quinn, FAA, and the subject was RNAV, Charting and New
Training Procedures.
The speaker at the luncheon on 14 April was the Director of Flight and Procedures of VAL.
Session IV was chaired by Tom Angelos of United Air Lines and the subject was "New Navigation System Requirements and Developments".
In addition to our warm thanks to all the Speakers and Chairmen, The Institute wishes to express its appreciation to Jeppesen-Sanderson Co., Martin Marietta Aerospace, and United Air Lines, all of whom supported the meeting.
The Technical Chairman was Alexander B. Winick, Consultant, and members of the Technical Coimnittee were George Quinn, FM and Tom Angelos, UAL.
