The city is constructed on SoftTiles 2x2 interlocking foam mats (black tiles, SKU: SBLA2).  The city uses the smooth side of the tile. Non-roadway areas are painted green (Behr floor paint, color Parsley Sprig, S-H-450). Roads and parking areas are left unpainted. 

The size of the entire city (shown below) is 20' x 20', with the start block at 10" x 10", roads 8" wide, and parking lots approximately 10" x 20".  The parking lots are solid black with white divider lines. In the diagram below, stop numbers are indicated in each parking lot (the numbers do not appear on the competition surface).

The white and colored lines are added to the mat as shown in the diagram using 3M 1/2" wide electrical tape purchased from Waytek Wire:

For ease of reference when discussing locations in the city, the top of the map is considered "North". Please note that this does not correspond to true north or magnetic north.
