ION Annual Award Nomination Form

The purpose of a nomination is to present a factual statement of accomplishment for consideration by the ION's Awards Committees. Collaboration in the preparation of a nomination is permissible and recommended.

The Annual Awards Program is sponsored by the Institute to recognize individuals making significant contributions, or demonstrating outstanding performance, relating to the art and science of navigation. Nominations for these awards may be submitted by anyone, but all nominations must conform to ION nomination guidelines. Award recipients need not be members of the Institute.

A candidate may be nominated for more than one award, in which case, a separate Nomination Form for each nominee is required. The awards are intended to recognize an individual; group awards are not acceptable. Only nominations received in correct form by October 15 will be considered.

Contributions*

Summarize the contributions made by this nominee as they pertain to the eligibility requirements listed for each award. Be specific with regards to the nominee's role in each significant accomplishment mentioned. Indicate clearly whether the nominee worked independently or participated in the efforts of a group, supervised, authorized, etc. Give dates, by year, of Their accomplishment(s), stressing the most recent ones. Please avoid claiming any accomplishments that would prove embarrassing. Avoid flowery language and long detailed descriptions. This summary should not exceed one page (500 words or less) in length.
